The Snow White Ballet

Saturday, May 23 – 4:30 p.m.

Kahilu Theatre

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a story collected by The Brothers Grimm and published in their 1812 volume of Grimm’s Fairy Tales. It gained popularity in the 20th century, after Walt Disney released his iconic animated film version in 1937.

West Hawai’i Dance Theatre first produced the classical ballet version of Snow White in 2016, performed both on the Big Island and Maui as mini- narrated outreach performances and main stage productions.

Relevant to today, we now revisit the iconic story of Snow White.

With her kind heart, gentle spirit, courage, and the love of good friends, even in the face of adversities, we are reminded that true beauty comes from within. Love and goodness will always prevail in the end.

Live accompaniment and piano arrangement by Megumi Kopp.

Snow White Ballet is reimagined by WHDT’s Founder & Artistic Director, Virginia Holte, with assistance from WHDT Assistant Director, Midori Satoh, and the teaching artists of West Hawai’i Dance Theatre.
