Genre Dance Classes

Jazz  / Contemporary

Beginning Jazz – Suggested Ages 8-11
This class is a great introduction to jazz with jazz technique focus. Students will explore basic jazz moves, beginning turns and leaps, short combinations, and performance ability. You can expect this class to be high energy filled with extreme focus and fun!  

Intermediate / Advanced Lyrical Jazz – Suggested Ages 12+
This class will focus on proper jazz technique, flexibility, musicality, dynamics, and development of performance skills. Class curriculum includes a warm-up, stretches, conditioning, floor work, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. 

Contemporary / Jazz – Suggested Ages 12+
Strong technique that incorporates classical, Modern, African and Jazz styles, Contemporary Dance focuses on strength, flexibility, and the ability of the dancer to find freedom in movement.  Class structure includes warm-up, strength and flexibility exercises, progressive floor crossings, and choreographed sequences. Dancers will be challenged with unique movement, a variety of music genres, and challenging choreography.

Beginning / Intermediate Tap Dance – All Ages
Tap technique, style and rhythms with emphasis on individual development and personal success. Both simple and complex choreography will provide an opportunity for challenging each dancer. Class structure includes warm-up, basic skill development, introduction of new steps, and several choreographed sequences for both Beginning and Intermediate levels. All students will be challenged according to the individual’s level of skill.

Theatre Dance – All Ages
Learn show-stopping routines from Broadway Musicals and Music Videos! Every class will introduce a different style, so you can find your favorite and expand your choreography knowledge all while dancing like the stars!
