We are excited to announce that West Hawaii Dance Theatre & Academy staff and instructors have started rehearsing for the 2016 production of The Nutcracker Ballet, which will be presented on December 20, 21 & 22 at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea.

Choreography is based on the 1940 Ballet Russe De Monte Carlo version and is staged by WHDT’s Founder & Artistic Director Virginia Holte, Assistant Director Midori Satoh, and Instructors Jenna Ojeda, Ann Marie Pargett and Megan Chapman. Musical accompaniment is by Megumi Kopp and friends.

Over 100 local students and community members of all ages from the Big Island and Maui will participate!

Special Guest Artists from the Bolshoi Ballet and Matsyuama Ballet (Japan) will appear in the leading roles!

Proceeds from our Silent Auction fundraising efforts and performance tickets benefit West Hawaii Dance Theatre & Academy, a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit Organization.

We wish to ask your assistance with donations for our Silent Auction. Goods, services or cash donations are gratefully accepted!

Businesses and individuals will gain community recognition for their offerings on posters, programs, and newspaper ads. Approximately 1000 community members saw our sold out 2015 Nutcracker. We have added an additional performance this year, so your business will be exposed to even more community and visitors! Your donation is tax deductible! We hope you will consider supporting our program. Questions? Please contact us at (808) 329-8876 or contact us today!

Thank you in advance for you support,

Virginia Holte, Founder & Artistic Director
